California vital records are available through several different sources
in the state. In most instances you may have to request California
vital records through the county courthouse, but you may also be able to
obtain vital records through the Local Health Department. Through
these various offices you can locate birth records, death records,
marriage licenses and divorce decrees. If you do require divorce
records you will need to contact the office in the county where the
divorce took place.
